Does this example work for you??   I only get items selected when in debug mode with eclipse...oddnes Huh

I can't run any 3D stuff from Eclipse.  I always have to run from the command line.  (Mac OSX)

Yes. You can see the change in the SVN revision compare.

The selection framework relies on the HUD pick missed event. And this wan't ever called anymore, since the content pane was always picked. This had to be worked around.
