I'm cleaning up my local build and rediscovered that the gluegen jars don't appear to be checked into the trunk.  I'm using some version I downloaded from somewhere in the last month or two.  Are we using a particular version of gluegen that should get checked in?

The new JOGL releases depend on gluegen-rt.jar and gluegen-rt.dll/.so. The files contain among other things the former dri_hack functionality for linux.

When I first configured X3D, I added it to my classpath for some reason.  Can't remember why any more.  I thought gluegen is where the GLU class is; however, I removed gluegen from my classpath and haven't experienced any problems yet.  Strange.

GLU is referenced in CanvasPeerBaseImpl.

Gluegen has nothing to do with GLU. It's a code generator for the jogl native bindings, see here for more info. It is a mandatory requirement for the JOGL builds since version 1.1.0 RC1 I think, so if we update to 1.1.0 when it is finally out, we will have to add gluegen to our thirdparty dependencies.

Oh, cool. Thanks for the info. Yeah, we'll have to add it then.
