from what I gather. the only way to have collideable objects is to import .bsp files? can I turn an object into a collideable? or is it that I have to use an invisible primitive for everything other than the map(bsp)? because I would really like to use geometry for collideables.

Just look at the bsp code. It derives physics objects as well. You cannot currently use the geometry data for the phyiscs code directly. Apart from that it wouldn't be desiarable. The graphical objects are much too complex to directly use them for collision checks.

The Xith physics abstraction layer XPAL is factory methods to derive physical bodies and collideables from graphical geometries. Just look at the examples.
