hi guys,
i have an assignment here that requires me to choose 3 game engines and describe&compare the rendering methods, culling methods and the basic graphics pipeline flow...one of them, that im doing is Xith3d. So im not really sure what to write as im really new to game engines and Xith3d Cry

any help?
so far what ive got is the rendering methods which is
   -Depth buffer
   -Alpha buffer
   -Stencil buffer

This is pretty low level. All graphics engines will utilize these in a way. The difference between graphics engines like Xith3D, Java3D, JMonkeyEngine, etc. is the high level API and how it is bound to the low level stuff.

So, if you want to compare these engines, you should write something about the APIs first and then about internals like optimization. I guess, judging the API is a little easier without too much insight. But as for the internals you need to investigate the whole thing in detail. And even for the API you should explore it and work with it for quite a while to be able to do a fair judgement.
