Hi All,

What is a good approach to profiling Xith3d for performance?

Although being feature rich, I read that people are reporting performance issues, and I like to get some more information/data/performance figures. What is a good place to start? I'm looking to build a fast paced graphics rich arcade game.

Thanks.

I very successfully used YourKit to tune the Xith3D internals.

Do you think Xith3D would be suitable for making something that would keep such pace as this game (Gatling Gears)?

And another question - what is a good approach for replacing Java3D behaviors with Xith3d analogs? Are there such analogs? Or something similar to their Alpha class? I'm looking to port a playable demo built on, looking somewhat defunct now, Java3D.

Thanks.

It's hard to answer. But I don't think, Xith would be the bottleneck. I think, it's a matter of everything around it.

Xith doesn't have anything like these behaviors. But you can use Animatable and AnimatableGroup.
