Now that we have support for both LWJGL and JOGL, I was wondering what comparisons anyone had done. What are the pros and cons of each? How doe they stack up in performance?

JOGL : Object oriented, supported by Sun
LWJGL: Faster with some configs ?, "true" open-source (Sun isn't messed with)

On my system LWJGL is slightly slower than JOGL (Linux and Windows). But on other systems LWJGL is faster. It just depends. Try it out. Support in Xith should be equally good for both.

If you want guaranteed fullscreen exclusive support you shuold choose LWJGL. FS-excl support for JOGL depends on AWT. And AWT supports FS-excl on Linux for Java 1.6 only.

I have problems with mouse events for AWT input since Java 1.6. But I'm not sure, if the bug is on AWT side or in my coding. With Java 1.5 everything is fine with mouse.

There might be more differences. Just make sure, that your game provides a way to choose for the users.
