I am in the process of syncing my stuff with the current xith3d.   How can I set movement forward without using key pressess???  I want to use the middle mouse to start a continuous forward movement until it is pressed a second time

Subclass the FPIH and override the pollKeyStates() method. You will want to manipulate the isMovingForward variable.
