Hello All,
I am looking for an engine that can faithfully render multiple overlapping and intersecting translucent polygons.
I read on the list of features that Xith3D has Alpha buffer support. Does anyone know if it will handle this sort of scenario?
In the past, I have used JOGL but I had to depth sort the translucent triangles and then render them back to front.
Thanks for any help!

Hi, madmarcos. Welcome to Xith3D Smiley.

Xith3D always sorts transparent geometry back-to-front as it should be (except if you turn that off manually). So you don't have to handle that on your own. The scenario, that you describe is a very tricky one. And you might get problems with it. But if you know, how to setup the alpha write states properly, there will be no problem, I guess. But I have never messed with such a scenario myself. Just give it a try Wink.

Hi madmarcos, and welcome !

As Marvin said, just try it ! I have done some pretty much transparency-intensive demo app with Xith3D and after a bit of tuning it worked like a charm.
