If you're using Linux and an ATI card (with ATI's proprietary driver) you should very importantly add this to your /etc/fstab
Code:
tmpfs /dev/shm tmpfs defaults 0 0

Then type
Code:
mount /dev/shm
or just reboot/switch runlevel/etc.

It will get you rid of these lazy messages

fglX11AllocateManagedSurface: __FGLTexMgrAllocMem failed!!
that are sometimes dumped to stderr.

And it even boosts FPS a little Smiley.
