Today I have toyed around with LWJGL on Windows and fixed some issues. One issue is not solvable without changing the API quite dramatically. LWJGL hangs in Windows, if the RunMode is not RUN_IN_SAME_THREAD. To solve this, it is necessary to create the Canvas3D from the render thread. I will do this in the next weeks.

Apart from that LWJGL should work perfectly on Windows now.

Wow, this actually came at the perfect time for me.  I was just thinking about LWJGL and Windows literally 5 minutes ago. Smiley
