With some great help by SETIssl I was able to improve support for older cards. His notebook has an older Radeon Mobility card, which only supports OpenGL 1.3. After some tweaks and additional checks, Xith3D works on his notebook. The whole engine should be able to be used without any exceptions or crashes on older cards now (and even on the latest NVIDIA drivers Wink). Of course features, that require newer cards and newer OpenGL won't still work, but won't crash as well.
