I want to cut serval pieces out of a 4x8 sheet of playwood. How can I calculate the best alignment of the objects to get most out of my sheet?

Are there any boolean operation functions in Xith3D? If not, wat is the best way to build shapes who can change in form.

In my case: a cylinder who can change his length, but the custom ends has to stay (no stretching)?
