Hi everyone!

It's been a really long time since I last logged in here Some of you know that I went to work on my own programming language, http://ooc-lang.org/, and recently I released with a few friends a pure javascript mp3 decoder: http://jsmad.org/

But enough about me How is everyone doing? Where are you now?

As you know, lead development of Xith3D went something like this:

• David Yazel (creator)
• William Denniss
• Amos Wenger (me)
• Marvin Froehlich (still current maintainer Marv? good job!)

I'm looking for feedback about how it was working with me at the time (if you can remember!), do you think I have what it takes to make a good team lead? What did you like/dislike about me?

If you see this thread before monday and feel like pitching in, don't hesitate, just shoot me a private message on the forum. Any feedback, even negative (maybe I'm making a mistake?) will be very much appreciated!

Well, I might still be the current lead dev of this project. But I have been quite inactive in recent time. Been busy on a lot of other stuff. But there was always one of our friends here, who jumped in when there was a support request. Thank you guys.

Well, how it was to work with you. That's long ago. I can't remember . No, just kidding. I enjoyed working with you.

Well, you want to know, if you have, what it takes to be a team leader. That's hard to answer for me, because it's been quite some time and you were almost a kid when you left the project. Well, actually you were a kid . But most of the time I was astonished about what you already knew about programming at that age. And we should not forget, that you regrouped the team after William was on the leave.

All in all I cannot say anything negative about our time. Or in other words I can only list positive points.

I would have to take a look at you after all these years. But I think, I would give you the job.

Awesome! The Xith3D community has always been great, I loved working with you guys at the time. It was my first true open source project experience, and I loved every second of it. Kudos on continuing the project for so long.

Thanks for the kind words! And for being honest. Yes it goes way back, it's also hard for me to remember exactly what each of us worked on, I remember doing a lot of work on COLLADA at some point, and maintaining one of the incarnations of the website, etc. And fighting with NASA code (haha, do you remember?) Good times

We had a croft in ooc-lang too - but he did a lot more damage and eventually made me hate any form of programming for several months. Fortunately, I recovered pretty well!

Awwww you guys are killing me here...memory lane.   I remember David, all that effort and then to drop the project...ouch.  Croft amazed me with his holier than thou / my way or the highway approach to things.

Amos I certainly had no issues with your work, I also feel Marvin put so many of the finishing touches to Xith I would hate to see him leave as captain.   I am good either way.   

I still actively use Xith but the real world prevents me from completing anything.

I do intend to add my Blender=>Xith exporter to the system as soon as I tighten it up a bit.


Amos, what would you do as the Lead programmer???
